Message from Mrs. Jane R. Combs, the Assistant Principal

I am delighted to be at Benjamin Banneker Elementary School and the Early Childhood Center as Assistant Principal.  It is a great school with a wonderful staff, and I am honored to be a member of your school community.

As we look to the future, we will be moving our children and staff from Good to GREAT.   We are energized, enthusiastic, and ready to start the year.  This year our theme is “Diving into Learning,” and we are ready to take the plunge!  We want to excite children from the first moment they walk into the school. The staff will be decked out and ready to welcome our students.  “Diving into Learning” means that every child will participate; so there will be no child sitting on the sidelines.  We will all be getting wet together!  Being totally immersed is the only way to have each student maximize his/her academic and personal potential.  Maximizing potential is what we are all about.  We want all of our students to excel.  

I am very excited to be a part of this school community.  I look forward to a great year and meeting the students and parents of Banneker.
