Hello Everyone,

I just wanted to take a moment to let you know about some up and coming PTA events. We have updated all membership and you should be receiving your cards home from school with your children shortly.

First, I would like to thank everyone who was involved with the Fall Festival for all their hard work. We really had a fun day. It seemed everyone enjoyed themselves and we were able to raise close to $1400 for our PTA.

I also would like to thank Mitzi McConville for all her hard work on the PTA website. You may now access the PTA site from the schools website. Mitzi has been working hard to keep this up to date. Please take a moment to look and see what is there. She has updated it with a calendar of PTA activities, as well as copies of all the forms that have been coming home.

PTA has been contacted by the schools Green Committee to work together to beautify the school by spreading mulch at the entryways. We would like to do this either Saturday November 15 or Saturday November 22. We will have a truckload of mulch delivered to the school. We will begin work at 9:00 and work until the mulch is spread. If you think you would be able to work on this, please send me an e-mail letting me know which day is better for you.

We will pick a date based upon the responses received.

Chess Club will be starting November 19th. Thank you to Beth Hill for getting this going again. This has always been a very popular club with the students and we are so happy to be able to continue to offer it.

We will be having our first Movie Night of the year this Friday, the 14th. We will be showing Kung Fu Panda in the Big Ben lunchroom and Tinkerbell in the Big Ben gym. Doors will open at 6:00 and the movies will start at 6:30.

Please bring blankets to sit on. We will have free popcorn and there will be pizza and water available for purchase.

Finally, our next PTA meeting will be on Thursday, November 20 at 5:00. This will be immediately following the School Improvement Team (SIT) meeting.

Please try to join us for the meeting. We will be planning future PTA activities.
