Arrival and Departures

Morning arrival: Buses unload students at 9:00 a.m.
Students should not arrive at school before 8:55 a.m. Afternoon pickup: Dismissal Time: 3:45 p.m.
Departures during the school day require that a parent enter the front door, sign the child out in the office, and wait while the child is called to the office. Please do not go to the classroom as this disrupts instruction.

Parent Pick-up

Parent pick-up at Big Ben:

• Enter side door at 3:45 PM
• Obtain and complete the "Parent Pick-Up Slip."
• Go into the gym, wait for your child, and then escort them along with the completed "Parent Pick-Up Slip" and your picture ID to the exit (the door in the gym opposite the one you used to enter the gym).
• A staff member will take the completed slip, look at your ID, and give the okay to go.

Parent Pick-Up at ECC (3:45 PM)

• Go to Office or Cafeteria to sign student out.

Any student who normally rides a bus must have a written note if a parent is going to pick the child up. Without the written note, the child must ride the bus

Attendance

Students make the most progress when they attend school daily. Parents who set a goal of regular attendance for their student are modeling their belief in the importance of education.

Students who are ill should remain at home. Please notify the school if your child is sick: Banneker (301) 475-0260 or ECC (301) 475-0267.

 When the child returns to school, please send a note that includes the date of the absence and the reason for the absence.
