It is very important that a parent/guardian complete all sections of the form, sign it, and return it to the school as soon as possible. Completed and signed forms are used to determine how much funding the schools will receive from the federal government. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated. As principal of Chopticon High School, I have the honor of working with a dedicated faculty and staff who provide a world class education for the students of St. Mary’s County. With millions of dollars earned in scholarship money each school year, our alumni are attending some of the top colleges and universities in the nation. In fact, three of our graduates are currently attending United States Military Academies.
At Chopticon, we believe that academic rigor is the key to success. As a result, twenty-one different Advanced Placement courses are offered to our students. Those students who take five or more AP classes during their high school experience are designated “AP Stars” and receive special recognition upon graduating.
Being a Chopticon Brave means setting your goals high and reaching for the stars. Our intention is to make each student’s dream come true. With self-discipline and hard work on the part of the students, the dedication of our faculty and staff, and the support of our parents and community, this can happen.
Mr. Garth E. Bowling, Jr.
