*** Our morning Walk with the Director program has ended for this year. We will resume in the fall.*** MSA Testing: Grades 3-5: March 13th and 14th for reading and March 20th and 21st for math Grades 6-8: March 15th and 16th for reading and March 22nd and 23rd for math All testing times will be first thing in the morning, so please make sure your child is at school no later than 8:30a.m.
From the Nutrition Committee: Recently our students participated in a Friday Taste It! Our featured food was Naked Green Machine juice! This wonderful green juice was distributed to all of our students. Please take a moment to talk with your child about their impressions of the juice! Naked Green Machine juice is a mixture of fruits and vegetables, including apple, banana, kiwi, pineapple, spinach, broccoli and wheat grass!

Recycle Rally – We Need YOU: Please remember to bring in your clear plastic and aluminum beverage containers (no milk containers)! We have climbed to 18th from 24th place this week! Please ask your friends, neighbors and coworkers to save their cans and bottles for you! If we can stay in the top 20 we will receive a monetary prize in April! There are just a few weeks left!! We CAN do it! Collect from your friends, family, co-workers…. Every bottle and can counts!

Student Design Spiritwear Contest: Thanks to all of the students who entered our 2012 Student Design Spiritwear Contest We received many wonderful entries!! Our winner this year is 4th grader, Kiya Adriani! Her winning design of a crab in the bay surrounded by sea grass and art supplies is fantastic! The art work is in the hands of the graphic designer. We’ll be preparing our Spring 2012 spiritwear order soon!
Talent Show: Announcing the arrival of this year’s CPCS Talent Show! So, get out your dancing shoes, your magician’s hat, your instrument or whatever else you need to perform and start practicing! A talent show review will be held on Wednesday, March 28th at 3:00 in the Music room (Mrs. Gates’) to see how your act is coming! Make sure that you fill out and send in the talent show sign-up form (extra copies will be in the office) by Friday, March 23rd. Spelling Bee: Congratulations to Nico Funya, Emma Gilligan and Kayla Weckworth! They were selected to represent CPCS at the county Spelling Bee last week!
Congratulations to our Destination Imagination Teams: 3rd/4th team Imagination Island finished 7th out of 15 teams! They also won the Instant Challenge! It took over 500lbs to break their structure! · Duct Tape Crabs (middle school) finished in 2nd place and is going to the state competition! · Storm Crabs finished 2nd out of 17 teams and is going to the state competition! International Exchange Program: Our 7th and 8th grade participants return from Italy tomorrow!
Spring Yard Sale is Coming in April: Spring cleaning? Start setting aside your unwanted items for our spring yard sale! Our spring yard sale is a very popular community event and raises about $2,000 to support CPCS.
Donate Your Gently Used Uniforms: We are collecting gently used uniforms for our uniform sales! All proceeds go to support CPCS. Please send in donations to the nurses office!
Chick - Fil - A Spirit Night: Thanks to all who came out to support CPCS on Wednesday night! We raised over $400!! Thanks to our wonderful volunteers for staffing the event!!! |
