Electives
WE NEED YOU! Electives occur every Friday from 1:45 – 3:00pm and we need your talents and expertise. Project elective time is designed to give the students choices and opportunities to explore hands-on projects that are tied to our curriculum. We’ll pair you with a staff member, or you can find a partner to share your elective with, but in order to give our teachers time to collaborate, more parent involvement is needed. We’re beginning to plan for our 3rd Quintet electives now, so if you have a particular talent or interest that you would like to share with the kids in the January/February/March timeframe, please let me know ASAP. We’d like to have an idea of what projects to plan by December 1st in order to align them with our curriculum. This is a great way to fulfill volunteer hours. If you can’t commit to every Friday, find a friend to share with and alternate weeks! There are 7 total sessions for the 3rd quintet. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Ms. Funya at (301) 863-9585 or email agfunya@smcps.org.
LUNCHROOM:
Volunteers are needed in the lunchroom! Lunch is served from 11:15-1:10 daily. Volunteers are needed to assist the staff. Lunch period coverage could be per session 30 minutes or for the entire lunch periods. Volunteers are asked to commit to just one day a week. To sign up, please contact Cynthia Chan at kchanfamily@aol.com
