Fairlead Academy, it is about guiding students forward and preparing them for the rigors of high school. We opened our doors in School Year 2009 and ended the school year with our students achieving great success. We had 95% attendance in school year 2009 and 100% of our students earned their promotion to the 10^th grade. Fairlead Academy, with the support of Dr. Martirano and the School Board, has expanded for school year 2010.  We have seventy-two students enrolled in the ninth grade program and thirty tenth grade students enrolled in the half day program. All of our students are striving toward rigorous academic goals. I look forward to working with each and every student to ensure they are successful and completely prepared for returning to their home schools.

 

With our small community, we are able to plan numerous learning activities. We will be taking several field trips, including a canoeing adventure with GPS technology and water quality testing, a ropes course to focus on team building and communication, and trips to local College campuses to experience college life. We will also be hosting quarterly awards assemblies to recognize our students many accomplishments. This year will be filled with learning and success and I anticipate watching it unfold.
