Congratulations to the Varsity and JV girls basketball teams for their victories over La Plata.  Both teams played an aggressive style of defense holding their opponents to 29 and 25 total points.

Class dues need to be paid by 12/19 to avoid an increase.  Senior dues are $60 before break and $65 after.  Juniors are $50 before and $55 after.  Sophomores are $35 before and $45 after.  Freshmen are $25 before and $35 after.

Attention all FBLA members: Pick up your competitive events study packets in D-11 before the end of the day on 12/19.

SGA will be having a second period meeting on January 28th in room B-12.  Pick up permission forms as soon as possible.

Student of the Month
Out of 1,100 students who auditioned for Junior All-State Chorus across Maryland, 120 were selected, 40 from each voice part. Molly Tracy, grade 9, has been selected to sing Alto at the Junior All-State weekend in Frederick, MD March 5-7, 2009.

Great Mills High School, is very pleased to announce that Neka Dennie has been recognized as an Outstanding Participant in the National Achievement Scholarship Program. The National Achievement Scholarship Program was initiated in 1964 to specifically honor academically promising Black American high school students. The route of entry to this competition was the 2007 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

 HSA Remediation Letter (to Parents)

After school tutoring will be available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00-4:00 p.m. beginning on Thursday, October 2nd.  The tutors will be especially good in the fields of math and sciences.

This is just in that an effort to increase milk consumption . The cafeteria has made a dairy move. We now offer chocolate, whole, and 2 percent milk in plastic bottles. "Lil Moos" do a body good. Drink yours today! Please recycle the plastic bottles in the green recycle bins located around the cafeteria.

Lockers can now be purchased from the school bank during lunches, assignments are made by Kim Williams in E06.  The price of a locker is $5.00 for the entire year.  Lockers were going to be sold as a pay once, keep until you graduate...that policy has changed.Student Parking NEW

 The Board of Education voted to use grade point averages to determine valedictorian and salutatorian for the CLASS OF 2009

The Board of Education voted to change the high school graduation requirements to 21 credits, 3 math, and 3 social studies beginning with the CLASS OF 2009.   Students will need five credits for grade 10, 10 credits for grade 11, and 15 credits for grade 12.
