English DepartmentWELCOME TO THE WORLD OF LANGUAGE ARTS! The GMHS English teachers are exited to educate and enlighten students to the wonderful world of grammar, literature, and writing. We are anticipating a great year of learning through a variety of works of literature, composition skills, and writing techniques.
Additionally, our electives will help prepare students for a variety of academic pursuits and interests, including:
Communications (Hornet TV), and Newspaper "The Spectrum", Publications, & SAT Preparation. If you are interested in enrolling in any of these courses, please see your guidance counselor as soon as possible. Novels that you may encounter in the 2009-2010 school year:

The GMHS English teachers are committed to helping students realize their greatest potential. We encourage parents and students to contact us whenever there are suggestions or questions (Please use the hyperlinks to each teacher’s email address from the names of department members listed above). We also encourage both students and parents to verify scores for all assignments by the use of the Home Access System (HAC) and Student Access System (SAC) and to check this site frequently for important announcements, interim & report card distribution dates, and past & upcoming assignments. The English Department is looking forward to working with our students and parents throughout the course of the school year in the instruction of literature, rhetoric, and writing. 2009-2010 will undoubtedly be an exciting and enlightening year!
