MIDTERM EXAMS
January 2011 has scheduled Midterm Examinations. Every class has a Midterm Exam. Some have SMCPS developed while others have teacher developed.
FINAL EXAMS
Every class has a final exam. Some have SMCPS developed while others have teacher developed.
- English 12 and Contemporary Issues end of course assessments are scanned at SMCPS Moakley Street.
- The AP examination may be substituted for the formal final semester examination required for the course, provided students have maintained a B average or above for the 3 rd and 4 th marking periods.
- The following courses will have scanned assessments for students. Seniors in these courses will have these assessments during the scheduled exam period for seniors. Underclass exams will occur in their scheduled exam period.

*Part of the World Language assessments will be administered prior to the regular testing in order to accommodate the speaking section of the assessment.
HSA, PSAT, SAT EXAMS

GMHS will give the PSAT to all 10th, 11th grade and STEM students. Students will be identified as 10th and 11th grade students by their advisory. The testing is organized by English classes.
- Students must bring their own calculators. Remind students to bring calculators on Wednesday. Cell phone calculators are not allowed.
- Teachers with 9th and 12th grade classes will continue as normal following a revised bell schedule. 10th and 11th grade students in those classes will be taking the PSAT on that day.
- Teachers who have predominantly 10th and 11th grade classes will proctor the PSAT. Inform 9th and 12th grade students in your classes to report to the cafeteria.
- All students will use their school ID number beginning with 000. For example, if a student’s ID number is 198654, they would bubble in 000198654.

QUARTERLY ASSESSMENTS
Quarterly benchmarks begin October .
First quarter assessments will be provided by the Department of Curriculum and Instruction for Algebra Course A, Algebra Course B, Algebra 1, Biology, English 9, English 10, United States History, Government, Precalculus, AP Calculus AB, and AP Calculus BC for administration according to the schedule below. Assessments are only one class period in length, requiring no schedule changes. Assessment items are modeled after the High School Assessments. Make-up assessments must be given when the student returns to class unless it is a prolonged absence. Assessments will count as one test grade in the first marking period.
