WHO WE ARE and WHAT WE DO:
Mission Statement:
As the Gay Straight Alliance of GMHS, it is our mission to bring together and recognize lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, transgender and straight youth in a positive and non-judgmental environment where they can fully express their individuality and share experiences. In addition, it is also our intent to create alliances that increase awareness, decrease prejudices and create a safe school atmosphere for all.
 

EVENTS: We sponsor the Candlelight Vigil for Victims of Sexual Orientation Hate Crime every year in the spring. We have been proudly featured on the front page of the Enterprise local paper for this event and welcome all supporters every year. Please e-mail Ms. Zoll for more information if you would like to attend or participate. All community, students and staff members are welcome!!

We are always looking for ideas on how to spread awareness and encourage tolerance. During the week of the candlelight vigil, we also ask willing students to make pledge to discourage and prevent intolerant behavior such as bullying and the use of homophobic/abusive slurs. We have had great success every year!
