DANCES AND BANQUETS

The following rules will govern school dances:
  1. Students are to demonstrate respect at all times.
  2. Students should use appropriate language at all times.
  3. Students should dance in an appropriate manner throughout the evening. “Mosh Pits”, slam dancing, body passing, excessive physical contact and sexually oriented styles of dance are not appropriate or acceptable. Students who dance in an inappropriate manner will receive one warning, then will have a discussion with an administrator and finally, if necessary, will be removed from the dance.
  4. One member of each couple must be a student of Great Mills High School. All guests over the age of 18 must be in good standing with the school and seek approval from the administration in order to attend school sponsored dances, including Prom. Guests will be required to show proper identification.
  5. Admission: Only students purchasing tickets will be allowed to participate.
  6. Students are expected to dress appropriately for an evening “dressy” affair. No shorts, cut-offs, cropped shirts, jeans, T-shirts, etc., are permitted. Decision on admission will be made by the administrator in charge. School dress code applies as appropriate.
  7. Students are not to sit in cars or remain outside the building during the dance.
  8. Students who leave the dance may not return.
  9. Students and guests will be admitted to enter a dance after 9 p.m. with administrative approval only.
  10. Students should be off school grounds within 15 minutes of the end of   the dance. Failure to comply will result with losing dance privileges.
  11. Students who were absent from school on the day of the dance will not   be admitted to the dance without administrative approval.
  12. A student who violates any of the above rules will be removed from the dance.
