St. Mary’s County Common Scholarship Application The St. Mary’s County Common Scholarship Application, created by BECA, the Business, Education and Community Alliance, allows you to apply for up to  twenty different local scholarships worth hundreds of thousands of dollars by completing just one application. You send in one application, one essay, and one set of transcripts and recommendations, and BECA willl copy and distribute to the different scholarship providers you select. INFORMATION FOR SERVICE ACADEMY NOMINATIONS
The nomination process is as follows:
1.       Write to your Senator in your junior year of high school.
2.       Know the basic requirements.
3.       Take your SAT before applying for nomination. You will generally need a critical reading score of 550 or more and a math score of 600 or better.
4.       Maintain high academic standing (at least the upper 40% of your class).
5.       Maintain first-rate medical condition and proper physical aptitude.
6.       Obtain an application from your career center.
7.       Compile and submit a completed application including letters of recommendation, transcript of record, and SAT scores. See your counselor for details.
8.       Watch your deadline. Late applications will not be accepted.
