Summer School GMHS

High School Summer School will be offering review courses for Algebra Course B, Algebra 1, Biology, English 10, and Government.  Both semesters will be offered.  The first semester of summer school is June 22 - July 8, and the second semester of summer school is July 9 - 24.  Registration information is now available from counselors.  High school counselors can begin registering students on May 11.

High School Summer School will offer noncredit courses for students who want to work this summer on Bridge projects.  The option will exist for both the first semester of summer school, June 22 - July 8, and the second semester of summer school, July 9 - 24.  Students will need to register as if it was a regular course.

Students who passed Algebra Course B, Algebra 1, Biology, and/or Government, but not the corresponding High School Assessment will be able to take the High School Assessment Review course during the second semester of summer school, July 9 – July 24.  We are expecting to have the May 2009 scores back in time for students to register for summer school at the June 30-July 1 registration, 12:30 – 2:00 p.m. at Leonardtown High School.

Students taking Algebra Course B, Algebra 1, Biology, English 10, Government and/or High School Assessment Review courses in summer school, will be able to take the corresponding High School Assessment at the end of summer school.  This can include students needing to be retested, or students who want to try for a higher score should they decide to take the combo score option to graduate.  The dates for the assessments are as follows:  Algebra/Data Analysis on July 27, Government on July 28, English 10 on July 29, and Biology on July 30.

It is very important that we encourage students needing the courses, review courses, High School Assessments, and/or Bridge Plan for Academic Validation to fulfill this requirement during summer school.
