Every February, Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant sponsers an African American History Month Poster Contest.  The students can choose any aspect of African American history to represent.  The entries go before a committee who judges the posters.  This year they had over 300 entries.  The elementary categories are PK-1st, 2nd-3rd and 4th-5th.  The semi-finialists receive $50 and the grand prize winners for each category win $200.

This year  Hollywood Elementary had two semi-finialists, Thad A. (first grade) and Elainna J. (second grade).  The students went to a special luncheon where they were presented their awards and their check.
