Work PermitsIf you are under 18 you need a Work Permit to work in MD. Here’s how to get one:

 

Once you have been hired pick up a hard copy of the application from your job or download one for them to fill out:

After your employer completes the form go to the website again and complete your part. Be sure to print your copy.
Bring the signed, completed form and the application to the Career Center. Once completed it only takes a few minutes to print out your permit. That’s it!

The Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY)     www.hoby.org
MISSION:
To seek out, recognize and develop leadership potential commencing with high school sophomores.

HOBY implements its purpose in three ways: by providing interactive opportunities for critical thinking; by promoting democracy and America's incentive system; and by encouraging social responsibility among individuals and participating corporations.
ESSAY REQUIREMENT  HOBY Leadership Seminar-LHS will choose one sophomore to become the LHS HOBY Ambassador. The seminar will be conducted next spring in each state and in Canada. At the conclusion of the seminar, one boy and one girl from each state will be chosen, along with students from 30 other countries to attend the week-long HOBY World Leadership Congress next July.
To be considered for the LHS nomination, submit an essay of  300-400 words.
Subject: Describe the qualities of a leader. There is no GPA requirement or other criteria involved, and this is not a request for a resume!
Essays are due by 3pm Monday, December 14th
to Mrs. Rose in the Career Center.
