New Athletic Paperwork Process
In an effort to make the tryout process run more smoothly, athletes should turn in their paperwork prior to August 14, 2013. The physical form and parent permission form can be turned into the coach or Athletic Director. There will also a table set up in the LHS Lobby on August 6, 7, 8, 12, 13, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for turning in paperwork and being cleared for tryouts. Athletes will be issued a card after all paperwork has been cleared. This card is needed to be admitted to tryouts and also doubles as your medical emergency card. No paperwork will be accepted by the coach on the first day of tryouts.
To be eligible for tryouts and to receive a tryout card athletes must:
1. Have a current physical (Physicals are good for 1 calendar year)
2. Have a signed parent permission form
3. Not on the debt list
4. Have a 2.0 or higher GPA
Fall Sports Parent Pre-season Meeting:
On Monday August 12, 2013 LHS will be holding the fall sports parent/athlete meeting at 7:00 p.m. in the auditorium. We are holding the parent/athlete meeting prior to the start of the season. Parents and athletes will be able to:
1. turn in all paperwork prior to the August 14th starting date,
2. be introduced to the Head Coach/coaching staff and
3. receive the team rules and tryout expectations prior to trying out.
A general meeting will start at 7:00 in the Auditorium followed by individual team meetings at 7:30.
In order to ensure the safety and security of players and coaches; eliminate unnecessary distractions; and protect the integrity of the tryout process, no third party observers are permitted at athletic practices or tryouts.
