Recycling

Did you know that our county now participates in single-stream recycling? That means that everything- newspaper, mixed paper, plastics, aluminum cans and glass can all be mixed together when dropped off at the county’s transfer stations. There is no need to sort any recyclables anymore. In addition, the county now accepts just about any type of recyclable product, including all numbers of plastics (1-7). They will even take plastic baggies (without the sandwich!). Visit http://www.co.saint-marys.md.us/dpw/dpwtemplate.asp?content=recyclingprogramslistingcontent.asp for more information. The school will accept all recyclables (juice boxes and pouches, aluminum cans, plastic bottles, paper bags, aluminum foil, etc.) at lunches.

Some paper-friendly tips to consider:
  1. Reduce the default margin size on your word processing program (to fit more on one sheet).
  2. Use a font size that is readable, but still relatively small (like 10pt in Arial or Helvetica OR 11pt in Times NR).
  3. Print on both sides of the sheet.
  4. When printing PowerPoint slides, put 3, 4 or 6 slides on one page.
