PBISSCHOOL-WIDE BEHAVIOR PLAN
We believe that all students can be successful academically and behaviorally. We recognize that it is very important to be clear and consistent in our behavior expectations, to actively teach desired behaviors, address low level behaviors with low level consequences, and to provide positive reinforcement when students exhibit appropriate behavior. We believe that by building a community where all members respect themselves, each other and property, we will promote success for every student. We have established three school-wide rules: 1. I will respect myself. 2. I will respect others. 3. I will respect property Every teacher will engage in class discussions about what these rules “look like, sound like” in their classroom and other school environments. These discussions personalize the rules for each environment in our school. Misbehaviors have been divided into four categories according to whether they affect self, others, an orderly environment, or a safe environment.A range of consequences is available to teachers to address behaviors in each category (See back of this page). Our goal is always to teach students appropriate behavior and to support them in displaying appropriate behavior. Please talk with your child about how he/she demonstrates respect for self, others and property, at school and at home.Discussing specific examples of appropriate behavior helps children to understand the expectations and make this behavior a habit. We will use our Panda Paws Program as the positive reinforcement aspect of the school-wide behavior plan.In addition, students will have their name written on a panda paw when they turn in their Panda Paws coupons. These Panda Paws will be posted throughout our hallways. We also appreciate your support as we work together to promote success for every student.
