Principal Fowler's Message
READY TO LEARN, READY TO TEACH, READY TO LEAD
Welcome to the home of the Panthers!! We are extremely proud of our school community and appreciate the circle of support. We are committed to providing every student with the opportunity to reach their personal academic excellence under the framework of the Maryland College and Career-Ready Standards. The Administrative team has established a school-wide Respect Code with the focus that everyone demonstrates RESPECT towards…Each other, Self, Property, Environment, Classmates, and Teachers.
The Maryland College and Career-Ready Standards are in full implementation. We will continue to work together to ensure that all our students have the knowledge and skills to succeed once they graduate from high school. Please feel free to access MarylandPublicSchools.org to review documents that explain some of the ways that your child’s classroom is changing and how you can help. Technology is a key component in the educational life of the 21st Century Learner. We support the opportunities students are provided to utilize many forms of technology devices with an educational purpose, however; students must respect the rules of cell phone usages and must follow the SMCPS Code of Conduct.
At Margaret Brent, we know that everyone plays an important role in the achievements attained by students during middle school. Our motto is “Ready to Learn, Ready to Teach, Ready to Lead.” It is expected that students come to class prepared, teachers are organized for instruction, and that the administrative team is out and about to provide support. Additionally, parents are a key factor to student success. Be an involved parent by monitoring the following: student grades, personal technology devices, MBMS website, teacher communication, and use the school schedule when making personal appointments.
Please consider becoming a member of our outstanding Parent Teacher Student Association. The PTSA funding is a valuable factor in providing support for educational tools for Margaret Brent students.
It is a privilege to be your Principal at Margaret Brent Middle School.
Ms. Janet Fowler
