Mission of MBMS PTSA

*To support and speak on behalf of the students in the school, in our community, and before governmental bodies and other organizations that make decisions affecting our students; and
*To assist parents in developing the skills they need to raise and protect their children; and
*To encourage parent and public involvement in our school.
To help accomplish this mission, the PTSA raises money through dances, the Penny Drive, and Talent Night. Donations are always welcome! Funds generated by these events (and part of the $7.00 membership dues) allowed teachers to purchase various classroom tools for the students to use, such as microscopes, compasses, and calculators. The PTSA also supports many assemblies, clubs, celebrations, and field day for our school. Your $7.00 membership dues breakdown is as follows: $2.25 – National PTA; $1.50 Maryland PTA; $0.50 – St. Mary’s County PTA; and $2.75 – Margaret Brent PTSA.
The PTSA is always looking for additional members and volunteers. Volunteers are in particularly high demand for helping with our dances, good referral lunches, and field day. Without sufficient volunteers to act as chaperones, our dances would not be possible.
