Announcements and Reminders
- This October we would like to celebrate Socktober by collecting new socks for needy individuals. Any size, color or style would be great. The socks will be distributed through the Maryland Food Bank and/or local churches for those among us who are in need.
- A vendor sale benefiting Relay for Life will be held on , from at PPES. See attachment. Additional Information: Vendor Fair
SCA is sponsoring the Kids Helping Kids food drive also known as Harvest for the Hungry for the Maryland Food Bank from October 3-. The most needed items are: peanut butter, rice, macaroni and cheese, tuna, canned vegetables, cereal. A table has been set up in the foyer by the media center for donations.
In Maryland, one the wealthiest states in the nation, 1 in 5 children struggle with food insecurity - that’s equivalent to about 250,000 hungry kids. Food insecurity is the inability to consistently access nutritious food. It can have long-lasting effects on children - physically, mentally, and emotionally - closing the door to academic and professional success. In St. Mary’s County, we have 5,060 food-insecure children.

Parent Pickup Procedures:
It is recommended that a note be sent with your child in the morning to give to the teacher for any parent pick-ups. The teacher will then forward the notes to the office. You can also call the parent pick up line at 301-994-2205 x9 until 2:30 pm. All calls for parent pick up must be made before 2:30 each day.
