Update on Standards Based Report Cards
The St. Mary’s County Public Schools formed a report card committee in 2015 and included representation from every elementary school in the county. The committee revised the pre-K – grade 2 Standards Based Report Card to reflect recent curriculum changes, which was successfully implemented this school year. The work of the committee continues as we focus on creating a Standards Based reporting system for grades 3-5. We recognize the need to provide on-going professional development for our staff as well as the need to educate and communicate with families in order to prepare for the transition. We are committed to a successful implementation and, therefore, we will gather feedback and provide training during the 2017-18 school year and begin implementation for 3rd grade during the 2018-19 school year. 4th and 5th grade Standards Based Report Cards will follow in consecutive school years. Please contact Mrs. Baltelka if you would like additional information about Standards Based Report Cards. Ridge Elementary School will have various options for parents throughout this process to keep you informed.
