This dynamic program will offer students the opportunity to prepare for a career as an aviation technician. Students will develop the necessary foundation knowledge and skills to prepare for certification within the aviation industry as maintenance and repair technicians in this high demand, quality, career pathway. Through classroom instruction, field trips, and laboratory applications, students will explore: airframe structures, airframe systems components, corrosion prevention, avionics systems, fire prevention techniques, inspection requirements, landing gear systems, communication and navigation systems. Students will pursue an Aviation Airframe Technician certificate as required by the FAA.

Prerequisites

This program requires students to have completed Algebra I with a C or better.

This class is a three year program.

The number of periods required in a student's schedule to complete this program is as follows:

Year 1 = 2 periods

Year 2 = 3 periods

Year 3 = 3 periods
