Dear Forrest Center Students, Parents, Alumni, and Staff :

The Dr. James A. Forrest Career and Technology Center works with students, staff, families and the community to make “real world, real learning” possible. One of our goals is to improve communication with students, parents and the community including the businesses and clubs in our community as well as alumni of our programs. We have not had an active parent group or foundation for many years. The teachers and staff at the Forrest Center would like to change that by forming a group with members made up of students, parents, alumni, and businesses who will elect officers and can help give input to the school and our programs. This assistance could including acting as a mentor, working with students or coordinating fundraising efforts that can contribute to better learning for our students in the classroom and in our student organization, SkillsUSA.
Would you like to help us make a difference? We need people like you to join us and donate time, energy, and experience in a variety of areas, including becoming members, elected officers, donors or input to help us make improvements and plan for our students in a variety of areas including field trips, achievement, equipment, community service, leadership and more.
Together, we will be working toward a brighter future with programs in job training, education, leadership, community service and the means to provide more for our students. Our volunteers who are members of our current professional advisory committees (PAC) and other volunteers say they feel rewarded many times over for the help they provide in making a difference in the lives of our students.
