Aesop’s Garden Club
Yearlong, Afterschool 4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
4th grade students meet after school to study wisdom-based literature and organic gardening.
Safety Patrols Yearlong AAA sponsors the Safety Patrol Program in which 5th graders are selected as role models who help to keep students safe in the hall, on the bus, and in the parking lot. (Contact- Mr. Dyson)
ELMS/Sotterly trips Yearlong SMCPS Environmental Field Trips for students grades Pre-K – 5th.
Home Access Center (HAC) Yearlong Parents may log onto HAC to view student grades and assignments. Log in codes are available at the main office.
Spirit Days Every other Friday Students and staff show school spirit by wearing BBES shirts and/or school colors (blue and white)
Afterschool Mentoring
September through May Mondays afterschool Select 4th and 5th grade students participate in an after school mentoring program. Volunteers are needed. (Contacts – Ms. Hamm / Ms. Stevens)
School Improvement Team Meetings (SIT) Quarterly School Leaders meet to review achievement data and monitor the implementation of the current School Improvement Plan.  Parents are invited to the Media Center to partake.

Monthly Events and Programs

Principal’s Council Monthly Meetings during the school day 3rd, 4th and 5th grade student representatives are selected to serve on an advisory committee with the Principal.
Principal’s Lunch with Parents
Monthly (one grade level per month): 12:00p.m. - 12:45p.m.
Parents are invited to have lunch with the principal to discuss school topics and issues.
