CPCS Updated Information - Please Read
October 2, 2020
Dear CPCS Families,
As we continue to prepare for the return of our students it is imperative that we know who will be attending CPCS for in person or online learning for the second quarter. We still have close to half of our families who have not responded to the SMCPS Return to School Survey -AND- the CPCS Transportation Form. If you have completed the surveys thank you. If you have not, please fill out the surveys attached below as soon as possible.
RETURN TO SCHOOL SURVEYS - *Imperative Information Needed
#1 2020 SMCPS Return to School Response Form tinyurl.com/SMCPSreturn2020
#2 CPCS Transportation Form https://forms.gle/EQxL46qC11UdiYXk7
Both these surveys are still linked on our website and provide important information about your student's return to school this fall.
With the change of return dates and students returning on Nov. 2 the following information is pertinent:
- If you have already completed the forms and you are not changing your response, you do not need to complete it again.
- If you have already completed the forms and you are changing your response, please complete the form again. We will sort by latest submission date.
- If you have not completed the form - please do so by 10/9. The sooner the better!
These forms provide important information to help CPCS plan appropriately for the students returning to school for each phase.
Here is a link to the Wednesday Board of Education Meeting. Dr. Smith shared information about the dates for return in his Board report. The first 30 minutes provide good information. This link SMCPS Updates also includes dates and information with respect to returning to school. CPCS will follow the same process for student phase in and orientation days.
Many of the questions asked in our parent survey revolve around protocols for positive cases and quarantines. We await the formal guidance from SMCPS and the SMCHD, but this document from MSDE is informative. The flow chart on the last page is useful!
PARENT SUPPORT OPPORTUNITY
Additionally, parents indicated in the survey the need for support and concerns surrounding their child(ren)s social and emotional/mental health. Check out this webinar opportunity next Thursday! Creating a Culture of Dignity Webinar
EXCELLENCE IN ONLINE TEACHING
Want to recognize the exceptional teaching in our school to others in the system? Dr. Smith announced at the Board meeting a process by which SMCPS will spotlight the incredible work of our teachers. Parents, guardians, colleagues, and students can submit a nomination to let us know who they see doing amazing work. SMCPS will recognize staff in the bi-weekly system newsletter, The Signal, and on the website and social media. Ms. Funya also receives a copy of the nominations and shares directly with staff. It's been awesome to have an inbox flooded with positive emails in support of our amazing staff!! Excellence in Online Teaching

SMCPS IT has streamlined the student LOGIN process as of AUGUST 15. If you had been experiencing login looping, or having to complete multiple login entries, the AUGUST 15 fix should have resolved those issues. The following is information is what you need to know:
1. Students should log in through CLEVER before accessing any online learning platform. (i.e Schoology, Gmail, Google Meet, etc.) This is an integral step in order for the seamless integration of all of the online resources to function properly. If you want to bookmark something for your child, bookmark CLEVER.
2. To login students should follow these steps as listed here:
Log in Directions - View HERE
3. If your login attempt is unsuccessful, complete this step first:
Instructions for clearing cache/history - View HERE
4. If that step does not work, we do NOT recommend using the incognito window as a long term solution or fix. Instead, use the link below to request tech help, and someone will follow up with you individually.
