School Nurse: Tonya Hall opt.4 or ext 21106
The school nurse at Green Holly is here to take care of your children during their school day. We help ensure that they are safe and ready to learn. The nurse's role involves making sure that immunizations are current and documented correctly, safely giving and storing medications as ordered by the physician, monitoring health needs of chronically ill children and providing emergency care and first aid.
Regular school attendance is important, but please keep your child home if he/she is ill with a fever of 100 or higher, persistent vomiting, diarrhea, etc., to avoid spreading germs among others. If they have a fever, they need to stay home until they are fever free for 24 hours without using fever-reducing medication and may need recuperation time afs well. Don't forget to send a note with your child when he/she returns to school explaining the absence. Please inform us of any extended absence due to surgery or illness so an alternative teaching program can be offered.
Medications: If medication cannot be given at home outside of school hours, we can give it at school if we have a completed medication form filled out by the doctor and the original container with the prescription label. Cough drops and over- the- counter creams are considered medication! The medication forms are available in the health office and in your student handbook. For everyone's safety, students are not allowed to carry any medications in school or on the bus.
