Graduation Practices


  • Friday, May 24th at GMHS
    • 8:00 am - 10:00 am - Students with last names from A - J 
    • 10:00 - 12:00 pm - Students with last names from K - Z 
  • Tuesday, May 28th at GMHS
    • 8:00 am - 10:00 am - Students with last names from A - J 
    • 10:00 am - 12:00 pm - Students with last names from K - Z 
  • Wednesday, May 29th at GMHS then St. Mary's College of Maryland
    • 8:00 am - 1:00 pm - ALL students


Thursday, May 30th at 6:00 pm at St. Mary's College of Maryland

Note: Students will report to GMHS first, no later than 4:15 pm to get ready and ride the bus to the college.

Graduation Tickets 

  • Each Senior will receive seven (7) tickets to the graduation ceremony.
  • Four (4) tickets will be given to attend the ceremony in the Main Gym. Three (3) tickets will be given to attend the ceremony in the Auxiliary Gym.
  • No one will be allowed to attend the ceremony without a ticket.
  • PLEASE NOTE: Any person, no matter what age, must have a ticket to gain entrance into the ceremony, including children who will sit on an adult's lap and infants.

Graduation - Handicapped Seating

All requests for handicapped seating for graduation must be returned to Mrs. Williams in the main office no later than 2:00 pm, May 17, 2019. You may pick up the form in the main office or download it using the following link.

Senior Trip

Where: Hershey Park

When: May 18th.

Buses Leaving at: 6:30 a.m. (arriving at the park around 10:30 a.m.) Be at GMHS by 6:20.  

Buses Return to GMHS at: 1:00 a.m. (leaving the part at 9:30 p.m.)

Cost: Ticket sales are now OVER.  

All tickets must be purchased by March 31st. Tickets will go on sale late February at the bank. The ticket cost includes the bus ride, admission to the park, and a meal ticket.

 All Seniors must have paid their Senior Dues ($10.00) and have no debts in order to purchase a ticket for the trip.

No guests will be allowed. Seniors only!

Senior Due: $10

Seniors must pay all debts by March 31st in order to purchase tickets to Prom. 

Cap and Gown

If you missed ordering your cap and gown at school, you can still order it online. The Last Day To Order Online is March 15th. Go to Jostens (https://www.jostens.com/) and enter Great Mills into the search box. Payment in full is required at time of order.

Project Graduation

In order to attend Project Graduation following the graduation ceremony, you MUST fill out and turn in the permission slip to Ms. Benedict in E20 by May 17th.

Important Reminders:

  • DO NOT bring anything valuable to Project Graduation. 
  • Have your parents/guardians bring your clothes/shoes for Project Grad to the graduation ceremony. 
  • DO NOT bring them with you to the ceremony.
