Welcome Back Message
We would like to welcome you back to the 2021 school year! We are excited to be working with you and your children, even if it is from a distance! We will work through the ups and downs of virtual learning together, supporting each other and learning from each other. Teachers will be reaching out to families, through emails and phone calls to share when they will be having their virtual open houses. Teachers will also be sharing a schedule with you letting you know when your child will need to be “live on line” and when your child will be working on Schoology. We won’t all be able to start this on August 31st. Our goal is to have as many students as possible to be “live on” line by Sept. 2nd. If possible on August 31st and Sept. 1st, practice logging into Schoology and your child’s email. Also, familiarize yourself as much as possible with Google Meet. This is the platform that your child’s teacher will use for live instruction and conferencing. You can find several tutorials on YouTube.
We would like to share again when you can come to pick up the materials we have ready for students. Materials will be distributed on Friday, August 28th from 11:00 - 12:30, Monday, August 31st from 10:00 - 11:30, 12:30 - 2:00, 3:30 - 5:00. Families can attend any pickup sessions and students can come with parents. Please bring a bag or two to carry your child’s materials. All people entering the gym/cafeteria must wear masks and we will be limiting the amount of people in at a time. So please be patient with us!
We are only able to give out the devices we have. If your child does not receive a device by August 31st, there are more coming in the next two weeks, as well as other materials that all students will need. We will distribute them as soon as they are available. Please make sure you have completed the technology survey in the weekly Smore Newsletter so we have a record of your needs.
During distance learning, communication with you and your children is going to be very important. Please make sure your teacher has the most up to date email and phone information. Also, you must know your child’s email address. Your child’s teacher will send Google Meet invites for live learning to your child’s email address. Information about your child’s email address can be found in the Smore and on our website.
We know the upcoming school year is going to be different but still filled with fun, love and learning. Patience, Communication, and Flexibility are all tools that are going to get us through this. We are looking forward to a great school year!
Wishing You Well,
Denise Eichel, Principal and the Carver Family
