The Media Center has subscriptions to the following sites. All can be accessed from home or school. See your Media Specialist or a teacher for the username and password. Our license prohibits publication of passwords.
A collection of over 21 reference books from the LHS Media Center (over 95 volumes) available online to LHS students only. Type in your topic, click search, and the entire database of information will be searched with one click of the mouse.
Three online databases containing over 200,000 articles. You can search all 4 databases together or search for each one separately. It provides quick and easy information about current events, statistics, health, science, and controversial issues, and more.
Comprehensive search portal SIRS databases. You can use the portal or choose to visit one of the following databases directly off the Knowledge Source portal.

Current magazines may be read in the Media Center. Back issues of magazines are available for checkout.
Available for individual student use in the Media Center with a pass from the classroom teacher or during lunches
We keep paper copies of the newspapers for at least two weeks. Students may use old newspapers to cut out articles, cartoons, and other items. Most news articles are available through our databases here at LHS or through the public libraries.
All B&W printing is $.10/ page. Color copies are $.25/ page.
Copies made from the library materials are FREE.
We can email you a copy of the pages in the reference book you need with our copier/printer/scanning printers.
The Internet is for educational use only. No e-mail, chat rooms, bulletin boards, or leisure surfing are permitted. Computer use must be related to school assignments.
Check out period is 3 weeks with unlimited checkout except when a book is overdue on the account.
