“School Attendance Matters.” School attendance has a huge impact on a student’s academic success starting in pre-kindergarten and continuing through high school.  Even as children grow older and more independent, families play a key role in making sure students get to school safely every day.  Regular and consistent attendance is necessary for student achievement, graduation, and career and college readiness.  We realize some absences are unavoidable, but we also know when students miss too much school, regardless of the reason, it can cause them to fall behind academically.  Parents may monitor school attendance through the Home Access Center (HAC) on the St. Mary’s County Public School website.  Documentation of absence must be sent to the school within three days of the absence, either with a written note, phone call, email, or through the school website portal.

We encourage our parents to park in the parking lots or back lots of the building rather than along the sides of the main road. The cars block the view of drivers pulling out of the school and cars have been ticketed in the past. Thank you for your assistance with this.

Please be sure that when writing checks to the school, use blue or black ink. The bank cannot scan any other color and the checks are returned to the school.

Volunteer Applications: The new online application process is now in place and accessible for use by all prospective school volunteers who wish to submit an application to become an approved school volunteer.  Parents should now use the link below to complete the volunteer application process. If you have already submitted a paper copy this year, they will be forwarded to the Safety and Security Department but any future paper copies received will be returned with a note to complete the application process online.
