About Us
Welcome to Mechanicsville Elementary, home of the Mustangs. Mechanicsville is located in the northern region of Saint Mary’s County Maryland. While the external structure of the school was built in 1951 and has maintained a lot of its charm, we are anything but antiquated. We strive to provide our students with cutting edge educational experiences, as student achievement and meeting the needs of all of our students remain our highest priorities. We are a school of 310 hardworking students and 45 dedicated staff members.
Generations of families have passed through our doors, making our school a true community school that has strong parent and community support. MES loves our volunteers and we offer many ways to get involved. Our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is extremely active in supporting our school, staff, and students. Our PTO sponsors monthly family nights and a variety of fundraisers.
