At Piney Point Elementary School we are committed to helping our children grow into happy, healthy and productive learners. Good character is a major part of their success, academically and socially. Our children will learn in a safe and caring environment that promotes a sense of well-being and the creation of positive relationships.
As the school counselor, I am here to provide support. I work with your children individually and in groups to help meet their social and emotional needs. I also go into classrooms to teach our Core Values, Steps to Respect, and 2nd Step. We ask for your support as we work together as a team to help our children grow and learn academically and in character.
During the 2018-2019 school year, we will be focusing on a different character trait each month
We will be recognizing one student from each classroom for each character trait for going above and beyond that month to demonstrate those qualities. They will receive a certificate during our quarterly awards assembly.
Character Trait of the Month
- Working hard, not giving up
- Believing in yourself
- Learning from mistakes
- Encouraging others
