This course will introduce students to dental assisting careers. Students will develop knowledge and skills with regards to medical records, sterilization and safety in a dental laboratory setting. Equipment preparation, dental procedures, as well as oral evaluation techniques will be covered. This course will also include: oral examination processes, laboratory procedures, post op and oral hygiene techniques, patient instruction, X-rays, and preventive dentistry treatments. Students will gain value knowledge through guest speakers and field experiences in local dental environments.

Prerequisites
This program requires students to have completed Biology with a C or better.
