Year 1

The students will explore the history of radio and television.  Using the content from the Cyber College Television Production and Elements of Mass Communication online textbooks, students will study the technology used to broadcast audio and video throughout the world.  Students will learn about and gain experience in related careers, TV studio operations, script development, video editing, and electronic field production.  Students will also participate in our student organization, SkillsUSA.

Year 2

The students will continue to apply their knowledge and skills in the three phases of production:  pre-production, production, post-production.  Students will be required to plan and create a wide variety of authentic video productions.  Students will assist with school system productions for SMCPS Channel 96 as well as work on productions for community groups, public access television, and competitions (SkillsUSA and other local, regional & national video competitions).

There are no prerequisites for this program.
